Everyone definitely dreams to have a healthy and glowing skin. And with this desire, we are bombarded with products that claim to give you the skin you’ve been dreaming of.

I’d be lying if I say that I don’t believe in skincare products because I really do! I’m a fan of trying different skincare goodies with the hope to find the right one for me. I remember binge-watching youtube videos and see what products my favorite vloggers would recommend. I have learned 2 things on my search. One is that not all products may suit you. It may work for other people, but since we have different skin problems, that does not automatically means it will work for you.

The second thing I’ve learned is that even if I buy the most expensive or highly rated products on the market if I don’t take a good care of my healthy, nothing would work. Goodbye Money! So before we head on to our local skincare shops, let us first start taking care of our body.

Here are 3 simple ways that you have to remember in order to achieve a healthy and glowing skin.

 

1. Stay Hydrated

People are not joking when they say that you must at least drink 8 glasses of water a day! Water does not only aids in digestion, circulation, and absorption, it also is beneficial to our skin. Just like any other part of our body, skin is made up of cells – they are made up of water. And without water, our skin will not function at its best. Our skin becomes dry, tight and flaky if we are not well hydrated inside. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling.

 

2. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.

Sleep deprivation is one of the mortal enemies of a healthy skin. “Your body makes more of the stress hormone cortisol. Elevated levels of cortisol can lead to increased stress and inflammation in the body, hurting your skin’s quality,” (Everyday Health). Not enough sleep worsens existing skin conditions and accelerates aging. So if you don’t wanna look like your grandma’s bestfriend, make sure to be well-rested and meet the suggested sleep hours.

 

3. Be Stress Free

Always bear in mind, a stress-free life has tons of benefit not only to our body but also in our lives. According to WebMD, “stress causes a chemical response in your body that makes skin more sensitive and reactive.” This also interrupts our skin from self-healing. If you are acne-prone, no products would work if you are stressed.
