Australian PM tells Trump there’s ‘no point’ attacking the media

Australian’s prime minister says US President Donald Trump is wasting his time focusing on the media.

At a press conference on Thursday, President Trump once again attacked the press describing alleged ties between Russia and his aides during the elections as a ruse and fake news.

Malcolm Turbull told reporters: “A very great politician, Winston Churchill, once said that politicians complaining about the newspapers is like a sailor complaining about the sea.

“There is not much point. That is the media we live with and we have to get our message across and we thank you all in the media for your kind attention.”

The statement comes after Trump held the press conference where he launched into an unprecedented attack on the press, calling the reporters gathered in the East Room for his press conference ‘dishonest.’

He insisted that he can accept bad press, as long as it’s true, but repeatedly attacked reporters for unfair questions and for reporting on leaked information from inside his administration.

President Trump said the press is not reporting on what his job is.
