RTA keeps a close eye on driving centres

Driving instructors in Dubai are being watched closely by authorities to ensure they’re doing their job properly.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) says it conducted inspections on highways last year and found that many of them were starting classes late and finishing early, eating and using their mobile phones while teaching their students.

It’s also remotely monitoring instructors’ performance at driving centres, which have been installed with CCTV cameras.

Mohammed Nabhan is the Director of Monitoring & Enforcement at the RTA’s licensing agency.
