Waste management plans in place for Expo2020

Waste management plans in place for Expo2020

Up to 85 per cent of the waste from Expo 2020 Dubai will be diverted away from landfills.

That’s all thanks to the latest technologies that will be used by the Expo to reduce, reuse, recycle and repurpose what gets thrown away from the event.

Organisers expect 49 per cent of the waste to be organic material that they will use for compost, 39 per cent is expected to be recyclable materials that will be turned into mouldable products like paper cup holders or boxes to be used at the Expo gift shop.

Official waste management partner, Dulsco also plan to upcycle glass into Expo memorabilia, while plastic will be converted into a number of products like bags and souvenirs.
